Our Mission
CIUDADELA’S mission is to become a Center of Compassion for resident and non-resident children of Ocotlan; to educate and inspire volunteers from the greater community to overcome unconscious habits of indifference and to inspire them to contribute to a more compassionate culture. We believe that compassion offers everyone a win-win opportunity in discovering the power of caring and working together.
When suffering presents itself to us with a face and we call it by name, the gap between us and them closes, and something changes. Compassion not only helps our wounded children regain their dignity and self-respect, it prepares them to contribute to their community and gives everyone an opportunity to revitalize our humanity.
