COMPASSION IS OUR UNDERLYING MOTIVE
Compassion heals wounds and inspires new possibilities. Your contribution helps us regenerate our common humanity and hastens our success in creating hope and a new reality for many.
Ciudadela Casa Hogar Ocotlan
We are a Mexican non-profit organization dedicated to the outreach care of abandoned, abused, or otherwise neglected children, and ultimately, to the daily in-house care and sheltering of twelve additional boys, 6-18 years of age. We have established ourselves as a Center of Compassion for many non-resident children and their families—providing meals, access to education, clothing, hygiene, and other interventions—through our many community outreach programs. Our success and the extent of our services depend upon donations, and the cooperation of community residents, who are trained in the art of compassion and encouraged to support these programs by their voluntary participation.

Historically, the traditions of many world cultures and religions, consider compassion as the ultimate virtue. In the Old and New Testament, The Golden Rule speaks of “Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you” and Jesus spoke to Christians requesting that they “Love one another”. Simply stated, compassion means to consider the well-being of others as important as our own. Compassion is our primary motivation at CIUDADELA. We know that it can be a powerful adjunct in not only the work of healing our wounded children, but in helping our community move past unconscious habits of indifference and enabling us all to enjoy a new reality.
